Room and Desk Scan Guide

Room and Desk Scan:

Once you are on the ‘Room Scan’ step, you will be required to provide a scan with a 360-degree view of the room in which you are taking the proctored exam and a scan of the area above and under your desk or table. 


Click the ‘Scan’ button to begin the room scan. You may complete this scan by either panning the webcam or laptop around or by holding a mirror in front of the webcam to ensure you capture the room and the area above and under your desk. 




You may complete this room scan using either of the approaches shown below:


  1. Pan your webcam:  Move your webcam around the room to ensure your capture the room and the area on the desk and under the desk. 


  1. Using a mirror:  Position your mirror in front of the webcam to ensure you capture the room and the area on the desk and under the desk.


  1. Pan your laptop:  You may pan your laptop and point to the attached webcam to ensure you capture the room and the area on the desk and under the desk.




Prerequisites before approving the mobile phone position.

  1. In the mobile phone view the following things should be visible 

  2. Monitor or Laptop.

  3. Keyboard.

  4. Mouse.

  5. Desk.

  6. Learner.

  1. The phone should be placed to the left or right so that the above criteria are met.

  2. No specific distance for how far it should be kept, the only thing is the above requirements should be fulfilled.

  3. Phones can be kept on a mobile stand or any possible support so that the view should be clear and easily visible.
