Steps to Resolve the Issue
Step 1: Allow Chrome to Open External Links (Protocol Handlers)
Open Google Chrome.
- In the address bar, type or paste the following and press Enter:
chrome://settings/handlers Ensure the setting “Sites can ask to handle protocols” is turned ON.
Step 2: Re-enable the Prompt for Proctortrack Links
If Chrome previously remembered your selection as “Do nothing” or “Block,” you’ll need to reset it.
Open the following link in Chrome:
chrome://settings/content/siteDetails?site=https%3A%2F%2Ftesting.verificient.com
(If your exam site is different, replace the URL accordingly.)
Scroll down and find “Additional permissions.”
Locate “Protocol handlers” and set it to Allow.
Step 3: Try Downloading the Proctortrack App Again
Once the above settings are updated, attempt to download and launch the Proctortrack app again.
