What to Do If the Proctortrack App Freezes or Crashes
If you're experiencing issues with the Proctortrack app freezing or crashing, it may be due to system performance, outdated software, or compatibility issues. Please follow the steps below to troubleshoot:
1. Uninstall and Reinstall the Proctortrack App
First, uninstall the currently installed version of the Proctortrack app from your computer.
Then, download and install the latest version of the app from the Proctortrack Download Page.
2. Check Your Webcam and Drivers (Windows Users)
Ensure your webcam is properly connected and functional.
An outdated or missing webcam driver can affect Proctortrack’s performance.
Update your webcam drivers if you're using a Windows computer.
3. Check CPU Usage
High CPU usage can cause the app to freeze or crash.
On Windows:
Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc or right-click the taskbar and select Task Manager.
Click More details and check the Performance tab for CPU usage. On macOS:
Press Command + Spacebar to open Spotlight Search.
Type Activity Monitor and press Return.
Review the CPU usage under the % CPU column.
4. Verify System Requirements
Ensure your device meets Proctortrack’s minimum system requirements:
Windows: Version 10 or higher
macOS: Version 10.13 (Sierra) or higher
We strongly recommend updating to the latest available operating system version.
For Mac users, go to Apple Menu > About This Mac > Software Update.
Check full system requirements here.
5. Review Antivirus or Firewall Settings
Antivirus or firewall software may restrict Proctortrack from accessing necessary system resources.
Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall during the exam if needed.
Re-enable them after the exam is complete.
