Using Proctortrack in D2L


                                  For students use only


This manual outlines the steps required to attempt a proctored exam using Proctortrack. The process for attempting any Proctortrack-enabled exam is consistent across all assessments. In this demo, you will be guided through the steps to complete the Onboarding Quiz. The same steps apply to all other quizzes, exams, or tests conducted via Proctortrack.



Taking an Exam with Proctortrack


1. log in to your D2L (Brightspace) student account with relevant credentials and click on ‘Login.’



2. Once you log in, click on 'Open in New Window' near the Proctortrack Dashboard. 




3.  a.) This is the Proctortrack Dashboard. On the top, you have the Onboarding status. The Actual tests cannot be

attempted unless the Onboarding profile is approved. An onboarding profile can be created by attempting the Onboarding test. The onboarding test is a sample test.



Every Test-taker needs to have an approved Onboarding Profile, before attempting any actual Tests





b.) On the Proctortrack Student Dashboard, you have the list of tests below. Click on the “Go to Test” button for the test you would like to attempt. Here we will first attempt the Onboarding test.



The Process for attempting the actual tests is the same as the Onboarding test.





4(a). Read through the guidelines under the ‘How it Works’ tab on the top. To further understand all the steps required, click the next button to scroll through the steps.





(b). Scroll down to go through the ‘Let’s Get Started’ section, to understand the guidelines for a proper testing environment.





(c). Scroll down further to find the ‘General Guidelines’ section. These are exam guidelines for the test-takers understanding.




(d) After getting familiar with all the guidelines, check the box (at the bottom) labeled ‘I have read, understand and will adhere to the required environment guidelines.’ Click ‘Go To Next Step.’




5(a). This is the Download page. If the App was downloaded during any previous tests/assessments, the download page will detect the downloaded app and bring forward a pop-up window to click on ‘Open Proctortrack’ to launch the application. or, Click on the ‘Download Proctortrack’ button and the Proctortrack app will start downloading.



Using Proctortrack


This is the connection page. The Proctortrack application will launch automatically and will connect to our secured servers.

If it’s taking longer than 10 seconds to initiate the app, follow the instructions displayed on the screen.


You will be redirected to the “Agreement to Policies”. Please read the agreement policies, check the box below, and then click on “I agree”.



A 7-point System Check will automatically run to verify that the system is ready.



Once the System Check is successfully conducted, click “CONTINUE” to start your onboarding. Follow the prompts till you reach the Face and ID scan.



You will be prompted to verify your identity. Ensure to read the information provided on the screen, then click on Continue to proceed.




You will now be prompted to complete a Face Scan. Click ‘Start Scan’ and follow the instructions displayed on the page to ensure a proper face scan is captured.



If the face scan is blurry click on ‘Retake’ to capture again. Once the face scan is captured click on ‘Next’ to proceed.


You will now be prompted to complete the ID Scan. Make sure to fit the ID within the frame in the correct alignment and hold it steady to ensure the test in your final ID scan is readable. Click ‘Start Scan’ to proceed.



If the ID scan is blurry click on ‘Retake’ to capture again. Once the ID scan is captured click on ‘Next’ to proceed.



The Test Guidelines window displays rules and what you can do during the exam. Make sure to read them before clicking "START PROCTORING" to start being watched during your test.




You will now be required to conduct a room scan with your laptop. Please click on ‘Start Scan’ and slowly move your webcam for a 360-degree view of the room, areas under your monitor, laptop, keyboard, desk and behind the area. Once you're finished, click 'Stop Scan’ to review the room scan.



If the room scan is blurry click on ‘Retake’ to capture again. Once the room scan is captured click on ‘Next’ to proceed.




If your exam is restricted by a password, there will be a pop up to copy the password. You should be able to copy it by clicking on the ‘Copy Code/Password’ button, or by clicking on the ‘Exam Password’ button on top of your video feed as shown below. Copy the password and paste it in the Quiz password and then click on ‘Start Quiz’.

After the test, it’s important to remember to click “Go to Submit Assessment.”

After finishing and submitting your exam, click the "END PROCTORING" button on top of the page or click on the “END” button inside the video window to conclude the monitoring session. This action will initiate the upload of your exam data

 


Check the box next to “Yes, I have completed and submitted my test” Then, click “ END”.





The session data will be automatically uploaded to Proctortrack.





The test/assessment session is complete! Either button seen here will close Proctortrack. Proctortrack will have to be run before each proctoring-enabled test/assessment. Click ‘QUIT APP’ to save the application for use with later tests/assessments, or click ‘Uninstall’ to remove Proctortrack from the current machine. Keep in mind that an opportunity to download Proctortrack will be given before each proctoring-enabled test/assessment




Once you have completed the Onboarding quiz, you may check the status on the Proctortrack Dashboard.



1. Once the Onboarding is submitted and is under processing it shows on the Proctortrack Dashboard as below




2. Once the Onboarding is passed, the status on the Proctortrack Dashboard indicates the same. The Student will be able to take the Actual tests (the tests become active) once their Onboarding is passed.







3. The Students can view their Onboarding scans data under the “Onboarding” tab. They can click the “arrow” to scroll through the Face, ID, and Knuckle scan. The Onboarding tab clearly shows the date of the Onboarding as well as the Expiration date (each profile is valid for 1 year). The Students also have the option to take the Onboarding by clicking on the “RetakeOnboarding Test” link.






4. To attempt any actual tests, the students are required to click on the ‘Go To Test’ button for that particular test. The steps after that are the same as shown above
